Silver Salila was born 1979, I have no idea if she is alive. She produced Silver Masquerade 1987 grey mare by Melchior (Incidentally this is the dam of one of my mares by El Rashid) Melila 1989 grey mare by Melchior Silver Drylila 1990 by Dryl Alpha ibn Estansa 1992 bay stallion by Estansa Adhorher 1993 chestnut mare by Estansa Meadow Miz 1994 bay mare by Zareryn Trebinshwm Red Alert 1995 Chestnut stallion by Estansa Trebinshwm Hadad 1997 grey stallion by Estansa Bint Salilah 1998 bay mare by Allaskar
All these foals are listed as being bred by a Mr E Edwards of the UK. The datasource is never right up to date with UK breed listings so it is possible she has had more foals since this date. You probably already know that she was bred by Mr Backhouse of Horsey Island. Its possible he would know of her whereabouts. |

I own Alpha Ibn Estansa I bought him at 7 when he had just been gelded - hes now 13 & FULL of attitude - but nice with it I've done some endurance with him - hes not too keen on it - being rather a lazy lad - so now I just ride him for pleasure over the hill here in mid Wales - which suits him fine |

Hi Pat - sorry for being so long replying - we lost our land line in a violent overhead thunderstorm - blew the socket off the wall in the middle of the night - was like an explosion going off - very scary!! Have only just been reconnected.
I was told he had covered quite a few mares, but prob as you said unregistered.
Judith
ps - seem to remember seeing in a reasonably recent H&H - Silver Salila - or one of her offspring offered for sale.

Unfortunately Silver Salila died autumn 1998 in Wales.
I am the owner of Bint Salilah, the last foal of Silver Salila. I purchased Bint Salilah from the owner/breeder of her sire, Allaskar. My information is compiled from various sources; I did not know any owner of Silver Salila. Silver Salila was a shining star in her day. She was sired by USA champion Silver Scenario (son of Tornado, grandson of legendary multi-champions Bask and Nabor). Her pedigree was from the Polish elite.
Apparently she was a celebrity until she met with an accident. There was a fire at the stables, and in the rush to evacuate the horses Silver Salila injured her hip on a doorframe. There had been plans to send her to the USA, but the accident ended her showing career. She was sold as a brood mare and remained in the UK.
Pashon2001 stated, "she was bred by Mr Backhouse of Horsey Island". Please tell me if this in the UK or USA?
Judith S - Bint Salilah is for sale on Arabian Lines. I was interested to learn about her brother Jet (Alpha ibn Estansa). Perhaps he is sensible aristocrat rather than 'lazy' worker. Home on the range life is leisure compared to an endurance career.

Jet has a new rider - my wonderful young Polish vet! Chris thinks Jet it abso wonderful & he rode him out yesterday evening for about 1 1/2 hrs - Chris got lost but Jet brought him home! Chris has done endurance riding in Poland, also been in the Polish Cavelry. He thinks Jet is the most beautiful Arab he has ever seen - well he would as Jets a pretty boy! |

I have uploaded 3 pics of Bint Salilah to my photo gallery. She is bay and very like Alpha Ibn Estansa. I think this remarkable considering they have different sires and many greys in their pedigrees. Belated congratulations to Silver Salila for her beautiful children. |
