Does anyone know anything about this stallion - i have seen a photo of him and know his breeding so i am after personal info if possible. Does anyone have any of his stock? I have a 32year old part bred gelding (owned since he was 4). He is boss of the field, sound as a bell, perfectly clean legs and a mind like a steel trap! I am outwitted at every turn.

He's the grandad (on the dame side) to my boy but I'm afraid I know nothing about him. Looks like he's crabbet/russian from the bloodlines. Apart from being boss in the field Shah sounds much like yours - although he's 'only' 17
If you have a pic of him, could you please post it here for us to see? |

I will scan in a 'posh' photo of him tonight, but here are a couple of him jumping.
How is Shah bred (is he the grey in your signature?) I have met a couple of Indrani grandsons (both by his son Indashi) and they have been like mine, quite strong minded (in a positive forward going sort of a way) and jump absolutely anything. |

If you look at page 3 of Pedigrees and Bloodlines you will find there is a thread concerning "Blue Fantasy" who was the dam of Indrani. I wrote about her on there including where to find photographs and Sue (Rozy Rider) posted a picture of Blue Fantasy being ridden by her owner Diana Wort.
Hope that helps

Istashra & Indrani are brother & sister(Indriss/Blue Fantasy), Istashra is the dam of Istfahan, who is at present on stud duties in Oxfordshire. Istashra,+ picture, is features in a two page spread about Silverdale/Robin & Wendy Carr,in AHS News.No.69 - 1987.

Just wondering if it's the same Indrani as the Indranhi (with an h, by Indriss/Mishani) that's in our pedigree? Seems odd this, definitely same sire (Indriss) but different dam, and the name is so close?
Shah (aka Voyajer, he's on allbreedspedigree) is by Escapade/Bint Alyf. Very strong minded but doesn't jump - well, he loose jumps very well but can't jump with a rider on. He's the one in my signature. |

Hi Tabita, Its Sue, who introduced you to the Owens & Miss Bowditch, I'm pretty sure that Indranhi was with miss Bowditch & that she used Indriss, I think this is the case because, Istfahan is now with Jenny Owen and she is familiar with this breeding/performance line. through Miss Bowditch's horses over the years. so Indrani & Indranhi are both by Indriss, and related to Shah (Voyajer) through Indriss. I've left you the allbreeds for Indriss,if you click on the progrny you will see they are both listed there. hope that helps. Sue. |

Thank you for the info on Istashra and Blue Fantasy, they look fantastic. I can see where my little chap gets his quality from now. How confusing to have an Indrani and an Indranhi in the same year though.
Shah may be interested to see this photo of Emir Alyf, he is mentioned as gelding champion but I think it is the one in Voyajer's pedigree.
In fact Voyajer is related to one of my other horses through Manipuljazia and you might like to see this story about Ofir and Mammona who are a bit further back in the pedigree. It is a bit wordy but the journey these horses made is incredible. Hope the link works! http://www.freeman-arabians.com/ofir.html

I am sure Indrani was owned by Tina Cooke in Dorset. She was breeder and owner of Ahmoun all his life. If she was I would think she would have a photo of him. I shall ask her when I next speak to her. |

I purchased my boy from a farm in Dorchester, they said at the time his sire was a local stallion, so I reckon you are on to something there. Thank you. |

Thanks guys for clearing that up! It is confusing, especially as both are chestnuts and has sire Indriss. I just got the mare/stallion bit wrong
Offira, thanks a lot for the pic of Emir Alyf, I've never seen a pic of him and I'll read that article a little later too. Mammouna was supposedly a fantastic horse so will be interesting to read more about her.
With all that chestnut in his pedigree I'm not surprised Shah is going more and more fleabitten with larger and larger chestnut spots. |
